At South Cliff Golf Club, not only do we pride ourselves on being ‘the friendly club’ but we also offer a superb combination of excellent facilities and a spectacular course with open views out to sea. Considered by many as one of the finest courses in the North of England, we regularly host regional, county and national events and in 2016 were joint hosts of the English Amateur Championship.
Not many golf clubs can boast they share the same designer as one of the world’s leading courses but that is the case at South Cliff Golf Club. Founded in 1903, after a period of serious neglect and suffering during the First World War, Dr Alister MacKenzie of Cypress Point, Augusta National and Royal Melbourne fame was commissioned to design and supervise the construction of a new course which is, with some alterations, the one that members and visitors play today.

As well as using our club facilities for hosting corporate and society golfing events, our location is ideal for general event hire. We can provide tailored menus to suit your event and our friendly and experienced staff will work alongside you to provide the whole package’ for you and your guests. Our unique location makes the club the perfect venue for a memorable day or evening.
Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club is an excellent venue for a meeting, with it’s scenic views and exceptional catering, it really is a winner. What better to start your day with a scrumptious breakfast meeting followed by a round of golf around our spectacular 18 hole course.

“Beautiful golf course and really welcoming club. The course was in immaculate condition with carpet-like fairways and true greens. We had breakfast and lunch at the club, both were great. The coastal holes are breathtaking, and a fair challenge. The highlight by far is the amazing view from the 5th tee over Scarbororough South Bay and down the east coast. Lovely club, would happily return when I’m next in the area.“
